Dear Old Colony Hospice Patient and Family,
As you may well know, the flu season is upon us. It is critical for Old Colony Hospice to prevent disease transmission and protect our patients and staff during the upcoming flu season. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends a yearly seasonal flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against seasonal flu. All of our staff has been offered the flu vaccine and educated on flu prevention.
We strongly encourage you and your family to consult with your doctor and make arrangements with your doctor to receive the vaccine. Vaccine is being made available in many pharmacies and by the Board of Health in some communities. Administering flu shots is not one of the services that we provide. The seasonal flu vaccine does not protect you from the H1N1 flu. That vaccine will be released sometime in October.
Let the Old Colony Hospice staff know if you have any questions. It is our goal that we will work together to get through the flu season as smoothly as possible, continuing to provide high quality care to our patients and families.
If you have any questions, please call us at 781-341-4145.
The SOONER you call, the SOONER we can help!
